ALCA 5 (AA5083) is an aluminum alloy, in accordance with ASTM B209-14 and DIN AlMg4.5Mn standards, this plate, supplied with precision machining (Blanchard), offers dimensional stability, mechanical resistance and thermal conductivity properties, its chemical composition and features make it an ideal choice for various industrial and engineering applications.
FTAA 5 It is an aluminum alloy that complies with ASTM B209-14 and DIN AlMg4.5Mn standards. We supply it in plates and market it as machined aluminum. Its manufacturing process is through a casting, pouring, cutting and precision machining process (Blanchard). Its chemical composition is based on Aluminum Magnesium, with additions of silicon, iron, copper, manganese, chromium, zinc, titanium and zirconium.
Regarding its physical properties, ALCA 5 offers thermal conductivity of 119 W/m °K and a thermal expansion coefficient of 7.3 x 10-6 / °C in the range of 0 to 200°C, in addition, its tensile strength of 282 N/mm² (41,000 Lb/in²), minimum yield strength of 124 N/mm² (18,000 Lb/in²), and hardness of 70 HB (500 Kg/10 mm) at room temperature.
ALCA 5 is distinguished by its dimensional stability during machining, reducing the risk of deformation thanks to its low levels of internal stresses. This alloy offers polishing properties, resistance to corrosion in marine environments, as well as excellent characteristics for anodizing and weldability. . In terms of surface condition, the plate is supplied with precision machining (Banchard), and the edges are cold saw cut.
Dimensional tolerances in thickness are strictly controlled, with ± 0.005” (0.127 mm) of variation and adjusted tolerances for width, length, flatness and roughness.
